Footnote

I looked up "g-force" in Wikipedia to find out an appropriate number to use in the last post and saw something very interesting.

A man named John Stapp once survived a force of 46.2 g on a rocket sled. This was at a time when conventional wisdom held that 18 g was the limit for the human body. And Stapp was a pretty fascinating character, a contemporary of Chuck Yeager and sort of the ultimate guinea pig when it came to experimenting with much much g-force the body could withstand.
